The Wonderful Adventure is a 1915 American silent drama film directed by Frederick A. Thomson based on the play and novel by Captain Wilbur Lawson.[2][3] The film was released by Fox Film and starred William Farnum in dual roles.[4]

Plot[edit]

Wealthy New York businessman Wilton Demarest meets an exotic mystic named Mazora, who seduces him and introduces him to opium. After becoming addicted to the drug, Wilton is introduced to Martin Stanley, a construction engineer that strongly resembles. Wilton convinces Martin to to impersonate him while he tries to recover from his addiction. The ruse is successful but Martin refuses to engage in a physical relationship with Wilton's wife, Eleanor. Mazora learns of the scheme and threatens to expose Martin, but she dies in a freak accident before she has the opportunity. Eleanor confronts Martin and forces him into confessing his real identity. Eleanor and Martin find Wilton in a dilapidated apartment where he has died from his addiction. Eleanor, who has fallen in love with Martin, pleads with him to stay with her. He accepts and they plead their love to one another.[2][3]
