The Worldwide Digital Identification Association (WDIA) - is a non-profit organization headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. WDIA brings together commercial and government organizations, as well as users and developers, to implement the best digital identity solutions.
The main tasks of the association[edit]
- · an assistance in the development, expertise and implementation of standards and technologies that ensure the highest level of protection, transfer and storage of personal data (KYC - "know your customer");
- · to prevent illegal and unauthorized use of personal data. Maximum use of the advanced achievements in the field of IT (IT), Fintech (Fintech), Blockchain (Blockchain);
- · to create a secure digital trust space between members of the Association based on distributed access technologies and open control over the integrity, consistency and accuracy of data, including Compliance/KYC/AML industries;
- · to form a public list of best available technologies and professional market participants in the field of KYC, AML, Compliance and digital identity;
- · to maintain a registry of compromised data and digital pointers to organizations and digital WDIA certificates, alerting organizations and individuals about possible compromise of their personal data;
- · active participation in the processes of harmonization of standards for the protection, transfer and storage of personal data at the interstate level, the formation of universal global standards to enable identified, unobstructed, remote and direct interaction between individuals and counterparties, the state and society.
The story of the organization[edit]
December 2, 2019 WDIA established in Geneva, Switzerland.
December 18, 2019 WDIA held a conference in Geneva on KYC/AML and compliance technology and a discussion of possible changes in this industry.
Yuri Myshinsky, president of WDIA, chaired the conference. Presentations were also made by Michael Farah, AML and Compliance Director of CAMS and former top manager of VISA, Anatoly Ressin, CEO of Blockvis, Conrado Sandim, Compliance Director of Transfero Swiss AG, Mohammed Sahid Khan, CEO of NeoMoney, Marco Tiso, Program Manager and Strategic Advisor of Best Vision Ltd, and Victor Fredung, CEO of ShuftiPro.[1]
On January 21, 2020, representatives of the WDIA participated in the Family Offices & Investors Summit held as part of the World Economic Forum in Davos. During the meeting, they discussed topical issues of using digital currency and the application of similar technologies in the business sphere.[2][3]
WDIA and Businesstanbul (Turkey) signed a cooperation agreement on February 6, 2020.[4]
On March 11, 2020, a WDIA delegation visited Istanbul, Turkey. A number of Turkish hotels have begun testing an innovative technology being developed by WDIA.[5]
The structure of the organization[edit]
The founders of the Association are the individual initiators of the project.
Executive Committee of the Association: President, Vice-President, Executive Director, Directors of Departments.
The apparatus of the Association: The Department of the Association, The Departments and divisions by industry.
WDIA has regional and territorial offices in Switzerland, Turkey, and Estonia.
The Russian Digital Identification Association is scheduled to open in 2021
