Theresa Ayoade is a Ghanaian female CEO of Charterhouse,[1][2][3] after succeeding her spouse, Iyiola Ayoade.[4] She was honored in 2020[5] and also nominated among 30 'most influential' women in music for the 3music Awards Women's Brunch.[6] She was the 2019 'most influential' entertainment personality according to Shine Publications.[7]

Early life and education[edit]

She attended Achimota School[8] and had her tertiary education in UK interrupted due to her father losing his job. She came back to Ghana and worked in at Adabraka.[9]

Career[edit]

According to her, she claimed she was not privy to the event industry when she was schooling.[10] It was claimed she contributed to the rise of the entertainment industry in Ghana.[7] She worked as a marketer for Joy FM in Accra and she quit in 2000.[11] She is the President of the Events and Meetings Professionals Association of Ghana (EMPAG) that was launched for event organizers in Ghana.[12][13][14] She is also part of the organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.[15][16] She featured as the cover woman on an event magazine named the Event Guide where she talked on the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 Ghana Events Awards.[17]

She is married to Iyiola Ayaode who is a Nigerian business man.[11]

Controversy[edit]

In 2019, she banned Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale from the VGMA ceremony after the duo created chaos on stage resulting in the pulling of a gun by Stonebwoy.[18][19][20]
