Theresa Keilhacker is a german architect and president of the Berlin Chamber of Architects.

Early life and education[edit]

Theresa Keilhacker began her architectural career with a degree at the Technical University of Ostwestfalen-Lippe in the Department of Architecture and Interior Design and graduated there in 1990 with a diploma. In 1993 she won the Australian European Award (AV-CC) for postgraduate studies at the University of Sydney and successfully completed them in 1998 with a master's degree.

Career[edit]

She worked in various architectural offices in Düsseldorf, Sydney and Berlin as a freelance architect. In Berlin, where she finally founded an office for urban design and architecture together with Boris Kazanski in 1998.

Keilhacker chaired the Sustainable Building Committee of the Berlin Chamber of Architects from 2005 to 2013 and then, from 2013 to April 2017, she was its vice president.[1] [2] In 2014 she was appointed to the Commission for Sustainable Building (KNBau) of the Federal Environment Agency[3] and was also elected President of the Berlin Chamber of Architects in 2021.[4]
