Composition[edit]

"Think It For Separate" is a gentle and edgy electropop ballad. The classic electro song was compared to the song "Lips Like Sugar" by Echo & the Bunnymen. Diamandis' vocals, which are similar to Lana Del Rey and Christine & the Queens. A ballad in the genre of dance-pop, synthpop, art-pop and dream-pop, the song is brutally on the album "Sucker" (2014) by Charli XCX. The first verse is similar to Lana Del Rey's song "Cinnamon Girl" and the lyrics are about miracle and bravery. The pre-chorus sings Marina, raises the comparison of the song "Hello" by Adele. The chorus is recited by the poet of the Middle East Hafiz Shirazi: "Yeah, I know that sadness and I hurting it / Because I'm sorry that we're doing this in the West".

Music video[edit]

The music video was released on December 1, 2023 on Marina's YouTube channel, and filmed in the suburb of Agoura Hills, Los Angeles in November 2023. In California, it snows before night, Marina wears a dark black sweater across the porch. In this courtyard, Marina was wearing a pale blue fur jacket and leather jeans, winter shoes.

According to Marina, the video draws inspiration from films such as Halloween (1978), Scream (1996) and The Conjuring (2013). It has a cameo role of actress Vera Farmiga, the star of "The Conjuring", in the role of a camp escort. The video was shot in Elysian Park, Los Angeles during a hike, so the lyrics of the song "getting trouble and getting terrifying" had to be muted during the scream.

Critical reception[edit]

Marcus Jean from NME was expecting a new warm autumn-winter electro novelty in 2023, before the singer's separation from sadness and pain. Nolan O'Donnell from BBC Radio 1 said of the sad electropop song: "Love is like a warm autumn life, just not the West, it's a winter life and the warmth of sadness"
