Thinkstep, stylised as thinkstep, is a sustainability software and consulting company based in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany. It is a working group in the field of Life Cycle Assessment and Life Cycle Engineering. Originally a spin-off of the University of Stuttgart,[1] Thinkstep owns international subsidiaries and maintains a network of sales partners.[2] The former name of the company was PE International (PE stands originally for Peter Eyerer, its founder).

Thinkstep produces a life-cycle assessment modelling program called GaBi (a word shortening for "Ganzheitliche Bilanz", which means Holistic Balance in German), and corporate sustainability management and reporting software called SoFi.
