Predominately set in Airdrie during the mid 1980s the novel is structured as if it is an oral history involving Memorial Device, a working class post-punk band of almost-beens who disband before they reach mainstream success.
Reception[edit]
The novel won the inaugural London Magazine and Collyer Bristow Prize for Debut Fiction.[1]
Kirkus Reviews called the novel "stunning".[2] The London Magazine called the prose "realistic and highly readable".[3]
