"This Wish" is the theme song from the 2023 Disney animated film Wish, with music by Julia Michaels, Benjamin Rice and JP Saxe and lyrics by Michaels.[1] In the film, it is sung by the film's main protagonist Asha, voiced by Ariana DeBose.
Production
The song is a tribute to the vast amount of "I Want" songs throughout the Disney canon and the recurring theme of wishing on a star.[2]

Release and reception
At CinemaCon in April, Disney showed a clip of Asha (Ariana DeBose) singing the song, which reporters from Deadline Hollywood described as "a very pretty, powerful anthem."[3] The song was used across the film's entire marketing campaign. On Good Morning America on October 16, 2023 (the official 100th anniversary of the Disney studio), it was announced that songs from the soundtrack would be releasing every Wednesday beginning on October 18, 2023, with "This Wish". The full soundtrack will be released on November 17, 2023 by Walt Disney Records.[4][5]
