HRM Oba Thompson Adeyeye Oyetunji (Olumole II) (born 15 May 1961) is the Alajaawa or the traditional ruler, of the Yoruba town of Ajaawa, Ogo-Oluwa Local Government, Ajaawa, Oyo State, Nigeria, and the rightful heir to the throne of its historic Empire.

Oba Thompson Adeyeye Akanmu Oyetunji Oladele Atunlute OLUMOLE II was born on 15th day of May 1961 into the OLAWOYIN Clan of the Olumole Royal Dynasty of Ajaawa Chieftaincy Stool. father was Deacon Joseph Ayinde Oyetunji Oladele of Baba Oyo Compound, Ajaawa, while his mother is Deaconess Mary Adeseeke Abake Oyetunji Oladele daughter of Mama Fajinmi Sangowede and Papa Sang’ ” nakinde Adewusi Ayinla Adeomo Ogunpola Adesoji of Balogun Compound of Onikeke Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Ajaawa.

Personal life[edit]

Oba Thompson Adeyeye Akanmu Oyetunji Oladele OLUMOLE II is married to Ayaba Margaret Oyepeju Oyetunji with Five children. He had his basic education foundation at Baptist Day School (now Basic School) Ajaawa between 1970 and 1975; Baptist Secondary Grammar School, Ajaawa from 1976 to 1981; and Divisional Teacher Training College Ejigbo in 1982.

Between 1991 and 1995, he was at Osun State College of Education, Ila Orangun where he studied and obtained National Certificate of Education in English Language – (NCE English Language) He attended many Seminars, Workshops and Symposia in the course of his career. He had a taste of Local Government work as a clerk with the defunct Ogbomoso South Local Government with its Headquarters at Odo Oba in November, 1981.

After graduating from the Teachers Training College Ejigbo, the Osun North-West Divisional Schools Board, Ogbomoso posted him as a fresher Universal Primary Education (UPE) Teacher to Methodist Primary School, Ilajue (now in Surulere South Local Council Development Area – LCDA) In November 1983, the Board found him exemplary and reposted him to his Alma Mater, Baptist Grammar School Ajaawa as a young class teacher.

Thereafter, Oba Thompson Adeyeye Akanmu Oyetunji Oladele OLUMOLE II worked as a class teacher in:

1) Methodist Primary School, Ilajue – 1983

2) Baptist Grammar School Ajaawa – 1983 to 1985.

3) AUD Primary School 1, Ejigbo – 1985 to 1992.

4) Baptist Day School Idewure – 1992 to 1995.

5) Community Primary School, Ibere – 1995 to 1999.

6) DC School Obaninsunwa – 1999 to 2000.

7) Baptist Day School, Elega – 2000 to 2002.

8) Baptist Day School, Idewure – 2002 to 2005.

9) Muslim Community Basic School, Idewure – 2005 to 2016.

10) Baptist Day School Otamokun – 2016 to 2018.

In 1982, he was given the appellation “SOCIO” because of his outstanding performance as the Social Prefect at Divisional Teachers Training College Ejigbo.

On 29th October, 1998 given a Merit Award by Ogo Oluwa LG Education Authority Between 2005 and 2011, he was the Financial Secretary, Association of Primary Schools Headmasters of Nigeria, Ajaawa Zone.

In September 2012 he was appointed Teacher Supervisor. The appointment of Oba Thompson Adeyeye Akanmu Oyetunji Oladele (OLUMOLE II) as the ALAJAAWA OF AJAAWALAND was not an accident.

He has been distinguished as a man destined to rule from childhood by his humble disposition, impeccable character, hard work, team work spirit and high premium he placed on people’s welfare.

When it comes to matters that affect Ajaawa Community, he does not spare anything within his reach. He demonstrated this with the part he played with others like Barrister Remi Adebiyi, Prince Adesoji Oyelaran etc, in solving the protracted water shortage at Ajaawa in the 70s by arranging and pressuring the government to sink the first borehole in Ajaawa. He was also one of the youngsters like Remi Adebiyi, Soji Oyelaran etc went to protest the wrongful citing of the Headquarters of Ogo Oluwa Local Government at Odo-Oba in the 70s.

Coronation[edit]

HRM Oba Thompson Adeyeye Oyetunji (Olumole II) succeeded Oba Oyedemi Adeyemo on the 4th of July, 2020, during the governorship of Governor Seyi Makinde and the Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Chairman, Hon. Oluwaseun Ojo.[1]
