Tic Taw (Video Franchise)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Tic Taw was a YouTube video franchise that released 4 videos in the first half of 2019. It starred Nick, Mani and Niklaas.[1] All 4 videos are archived by link on the internet, and as of yet they are not watchable.

The franchise found its genesis in November of 2018 when their teacher, Dan Gorgichuk, assigned an advertisement assignment. They worked for 3 class periods to make their work. It was not until February 2019 they published the video.[2] Nick met Niklaas in September of 2016[3] when he was in fourth grade. They only became friends due to the fact that they had the same name.

The group got their fame ultimately when they released their second video, which got them their only third-party subscriber, The Fantastic Brown Dirt.[4] Their third video, released in April, dropped a teaser for a follow-up sequel to the original, but this never turned up.[5]

Other Releases[edit]

The group also made headway on two other scripted videos, first they filmed a Science Video in June, but it was deemed unusable when blurring was unthinkable.[14] In 2020, just half a year before the videos were lost, a timeline special was published, telling the complete story in full detail.[15][16]

Cast[edit]

On-camera appearances[edit]
  • Nick Barraclough- the "host" of the show, Nick appeared in almost every scene, advertising the product. Nick continued to release new works after the franchise ended.[17]
  • Niklaas Braaksma- enacted Aaron Judge in the videos,[18] wearing his hockey get up, which did not help the authenticity. Niklaas is a member of the Edmonton Oil Kings.[19]
  • Mani Alhomoudi- The "reporter" on the video, Mani went to India for meditation after the franchise ended, and he is most elusive. Mani is of Saudi-Arabian heritage, who learned the Canadian languages during the time.[20]
Off-camera production[edit]
  • Luke Fensky- The fourth member of the troupe, Luke enjoys farming in his spare time.[21]
  • Jiahua Lu- The manager of the group, Jiahua helped book engagements and keep the group together long enough to make a release.[22]
  • Dan Gorgichuk- The official teacher of the cast, Dan is an enthusiast for mountain biking and fish.[23][24]

Loss and Archive[edit]

On December 16, 2020, the videos were ultimately deleted when Nick deleted the account. Luckily, he archived the links for future use. Nick did not want a part in it, so he decided to delete the content. He did not intend to let go of the videos, but he was on EPSB, so he had no access to downloading them. Nick believes that since they were up and available so long, they were probably and most likely in someone's possession, but until that is confirmed, they are deemed lost.[25]
