Timothy P. Edson is an American political strategist and businessman who has held senior staff positions in the United States House of Representatives, including service in House leadership offices[1] and as communications director and deputy chief of staff to Representative Todd Rokita of Indiana.[2][3][4] He served as political director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) during the 2024 election cycle, in which Republicans regained a Senate majority.[5][6]

Career

Congressional service

Edson began his career as a legislative and press aide in the Virginia General Assembly before joining the staff of the United States House of Representatives.[7] Official disbursement records document his employment in a House leadership office in 2005.[1] He later served as communications director to Representative Todd Rokita, a Republican representing Indiana's 4th congressional district, beginning in 2011,[2] and returned to Rokita's office in 2013 as deputy chief of staff, a position he held until mid-2014.[3][4]

National Republican Senatorial Committee

Edson served as political director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee during the 2024 election cycle, when the committee was chaired by Senator Steve Daines of Montana.[5][8] Republicans gained a Senate majority in the 2024 elections.[6]

Post-NRSC career

Edson co-founded S2R Public Affairs, a strategic advisory and public affairs firm, with Jason Thielman—who previously served as NRSC executive director and as chief of staff to Senator Daines—and Brock Lowrance, a former senior NRSC advisor.[5][8] He also co-founded the American Growth Partnership, a Washington, D.C.-based business association.[9]

In 2020, Edson was named to the American Association of Political Consultants' "40 Under 40" list.[7]
