Timirdine (EGYT 4201) is an imino thiazolidine derivative that has been investigated as a potential antidepressant agent. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its activity in several behavioral models relevant to depression, suggesting that it may possess a unique pharmacological profile distinct from traditional monoaminergic antidepressants.
Pharmacology:[1] Patents (Ex 3, 12 & 18):[2][3]
It is made from a chemical called HC Yellow no. 12 [59320-13-7], which is a hair dye.
For comparison, Timirdine shares certain structural similarities to Azolimine & Clazolimine.
