Timothy Charles Peck is an American physician and a 2023 Congressional candidate for Indiana's 9th District. Specializing in emergency medicine, Peck has contributed significantly to elderly care and healthcare technology.

Early life and education[edit]

Timothy "Tim" Peck was born on January 3, 1981 in New York. He attended Chaminade High School in Mineola, New York, and then attained his undergraduate degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. Dr. Peck received his medical degree at New York University and later specialized in Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Peck has always been passionate about patient care and finding innovative ways to improve the quality of life for the elderly.

Boston Marathon Bombings[edit]

On April 15, 2013, Dr. Peck was the Chief Resident in the Emergency Department at Beth Israel Deaconess. At 2:49 pm that day a series of bombs went off during the Boston Marathon. Dr. Peck and his team in the Emergency Department treated dozens of victims that day, saving many lives. In 2017 and again in 2019, Dr. Peck, not built like a runner – by his own admission – completed the Boston Marathon raising more than $10,000 for Beth Israel Deaconess’ charity arm.

Nursing Home Immersion Project[edit]

While working in Emergency Departments Dr. Peck identified a large percentage of patients coming into his ED from nursing homes – upon further research, he would identify that 19% of all ED visits come from nursing homes – and many of the health challenges the patients were suffering from seemed like they could/should be cared for in the comfort of the patients nursing home beds. So Dr. Peck set out to solve the problem. He embarked on a groundbreaking project where he chose to reside in a nursing home for an extended period. This project aimed to shed light on the daily struggles and experiences faced by elderly individuals in long-term care. During his time in the nursing home, Dr. Peck interacted with residents, caregivers, and staff to gain a deeper understanding of their needs and challenges. Dr. Peck honed his learnings to form Call9, a YCombinator accelerated startup that raised more than $40M to advance patient care in nursing homes.

Carreer Contributions[edit]

In addition to founding Call9, Dr. Peck is a co-founder and Board Member of Curve Health, an evolutionary patient care solution for nursing homes, and Dr. Peck has worked as the Executive Portfolio Director at IDEO, a human-centered design company where Peck was able to advance his patient-first approach to healthcare. Most recently Dr. Peck was the CEO of CareScout, a subsidiary of Genworth (NYSE: GNW), where he and his team designed a care platform for the aging, their families, and caretakers.

Political career[edit]

On December 7, 2023, Peck announced his candidacy for Congress in Indiana's 9th District, aiming to bring his healthcare expertise to legislative policy.

Personal life[edit]

Peck resides in New Washington, Indiana, with his wife, Missy and young son, Cassidy
