Tinatin "Tina" Berdzenishvili (Georgian: თინათინ [თინა] ბერძენიშვილი) (born October 31, 1979, Tbilisi) is a Georgian journalist, media manager and incumbent Director General of Georgian Public Broadcaster.[1] [2][3]She is the chairwoman of the Gender Equality Steering Group[4][5] and a member of the media committee of the European Broadcasting Union.[6][7]
Educational background[edit]
In 2002, Berdzenishvili graduated from the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film University with a Master of Film, Television and Media Studies. In 2022, she received her Ph.D. in Mass Communications.[8][9]
Career[edit]
Between 1997 and 1999, Berdzenishvili worked as a journalist for the newspaper Georgian Movie. From 1999 to 2000, she was a journalist for the TV and Radio agency "Audiencia" and also worked there as an author and presenter between 2000 and 2003. In 2003, she was the presenter of a TV Imedi program,[citation needed] while at the same time working as a Video Outlet Manager of Art IMEDI between 2001 and 2003. From 2005 to 2009, she served as a PR Manager for the Insurance Broker Company "NLI LTD" in Azerbaijan.
In 2011, Berdzenishvili continued her career in media at the Georgian Public Broadcaster as Head of Public Affairs and carried out this position until 2014. At the same time, in 2012 and 2013, she was the presenter of a television program of GPB.[citation needed] From 2014 to 2015, she was appointed as Head of the Marketing Department at Georgian Public Broadcasting. From 2015 to 2020, she was the Media and Communications Director and served as an Acting Director General in 2016 and 2017.[10] In 2018, Berdzenishvili became the First Deputy Director General of GPB and was subsequently elected as Director General in 2020.[11][12][13]
