Tippy (born on July 25, 1996), also known as Tiffany Jade, is an American YouTuber better known for his appearance in a 2019 video of him saying his catchphrase, "Daddy Chill," in a female-like voice. After the launch of the video, the clip of him saying the phrase took off across social media, which inspired people to make memes and remixes, and drove the phrase to popularity across the internet. In addition to Daddy Chill, he is also known for making Let's Play videos and primarily making videos of trolling individuals on the online chat website Omegle.

About

Channel name

According to Tippy, his YouTube channel name originated during his childhood when a close neighbor of his decided that he was going to call him "Tippy" from now on because he was clumsy. However, his channel name was not always Tippy; According to him, his channel name used to be somewhere along the lines of "Saucy."[2]

Content

Tippy's YouTube content mostly revolves around the online chat website Omegle, where he intentionally tries to instigate conflict and arguments with other individuals on the site. Earlier, before he became viral in 2019, he would be uploading Let's Play videos of himself playing video games, mainly Fortnite, while talking to other people with a feminine voice.[2]

Alter ego

Tippy's alter ego, Tiffany Jade, originated when he recorded himself playing Fortnite Battle Royale while trolling another person with his effeminate voice. While playing, the person he was playing with asked him what his name was; Tippy responded with, "Tiffany Jade" because his initials were "TJ." From there, he stuck with the name. Tippy describes his alter ego as sassy and very confident, and she doesn't care what anyone says about her. In general, Tippy describes her as a "bad bitch."[2]

Daddy Chill video

On January 18, 2019, YouTuber Jesse Ridgway, better known as McJuggerNuggets, uploaded a 30-minute long video on YouTube titled "EVICTION DAY!" The video is about Ridgway and his friends getting evicted from the home of Jeffrey Ridgway Sr., who is Jesse Ridgway's father. Along the 18-minute mark of the video, as Ridgway Sr. attempts to evict numerous people from his home, Tippy tries to calm down the situation by interrupting Ridgway Sr. and saying in a female voice, "Wait, wait, wait, daddy chill," to which Ridgway Sr. responds, "what the hell is even that?"[3][4]

Going viral

The phrase "Daddy Chill" started to gain popularity in January 2019 on social media sites such as Instagram, Twitter, and Reddit. The meme eventually spread to TikTok, where adult men were uploading videos of themselves pronouncing the words in a feminine tone.[5] Earlier in January, during the viral growth of the video, Tippy would come to find out while at work. According to Tippy, he would be sent stuff related to the video by users on Reddit. While at his job, his co-workers would find out about the video, and he would eventually be fired by his boss. The reasoning behind his boss's decision to fire him is still unclear, but according to Tippy, he thinks his boss fired him because of the viral video since there was no other reason to fire him.[2]

According to Tippy, celebrities such as Chris Brown and Cameron Dallas posted the clip onto their social media.[2]
