To Dream received generaly positive reviews from critics. That Moment In gave a positive review of 4/5. It has stated "To Dream is an authentic tragedy, a rarity for how well it threads it all together and while there is a kind of hopelessness to it all, it is nonetheless uncompromising in its finale."[6]
Festival director Addie Akinrinade commented: “To Dream is one of those urban, English, drugs, sex, rave, drink, gritty films. It’s well written, very natural and real. Adam Deacon is brilliant as usual, the two leads are fantastic and Diana Vickers does amazingly”.[7]
