Toilet spitting

Toilet spitting is a male habit of spitting saliva or phlegm into the toilet bowl or urinal before, during or after urination.[1]

Various reasons have been advanced, including territorial behaviour,[2][3] a conditioned reflex,[4] and clearing the throat of foul odours.[5]
