Tom O. Mitchell is a British drummer, educator and author. He is the founder and director of DrumWise, a drum school based in Maidstone Kent and he is the author of Find Your Beat!,[1] a drum book for complete beginners.

Early life[edit]

Educated at the Bennett Memorial Diocesan School In Tunbridge Wells, he started having drum lessons at school the age of 14. After school he studied music at West Kent College in Tonbridge before founding DrumWise in 2004.

Career[edit]

Growing up, Mitchell was in several bands before co-founding Broadview, a pop-punk band that played many shows at The Forum, Tunbridge Wells. He then went on to play in several other bands including Spirits Of The Twelve who recorded an EP at Real World Studios with producer Robin Baynton. After the band split up he went on to play for bands like The Megadudes[2] and Heel (UK band),[3] who he recorded drums with on their 2014 EP 'Stranger Just The Same' which was produced by former Sikth vocalist Justin Hill. He also played live for them on their headline tour of Japan and was featured in several of the band's videos, including 'Gone' which was directed by SikTh frontman Mikee Goodman.

In June 2017 he played for Emma Stevens on her 'To My Roots' UK tour.
