Tom Sileo
Tom Sileo is an author and award-winning military writer.
Early days[edit]
Sileo spent almost five years as a copy editor for CNN.[1][2] He also worked at the United Service Organizations, Associated Press, Tribune, WSPA-TV, and WTVM-TV.[3] He has a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Media from Rutgers University.[4]
Writer[edit]
Sileo is co-author of Brothers Forever: The Enduring Bond Between a Marine and a Navy SEAL that Transcended Their Ultimate Sacrifice.[5] Written with Col. Tom Manion (Ret.) and published by Da Capo Press, Brothers Forever was released in May 2014.[4]
Sileo is also co-author of 8 Seconds of Courage (Simon & Schuster, 2017), Fire in My Eyes (Hachette, 2016) and Three Wise Men (St. Martin's Press, 2021).[6][7][8] Sileo is a contributing senior editor of The Stream and recipient of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation's General Oliver P. Smith Award for distinguished reporting.[9]
Family[edit]
Sileo lives in Florida. His wife's name is Lisa and youngest daughter Natalie, who has Down syndrome. Her name was inspired by the Washington Nationals.[10]
