Tomin J. Thachankary is a senior officer in the Indian Police Service (IPS) from Kerala, India. He is currently the ex.Cadre DGP of Kerala Police. Now he is the M.D of Kerala Financial Corporation (K.F.C) Previously Served as Fire Force Director, Kerala Police Headquarters ADGP, Crime Branch ADGP, Kannur Range Inspector General of police[disambiguation needed]. Promoted to DGP rank in 1st September 2020 on for the road safety commissioner n.sankar reddy retired from service. [1]
Early life[edit]
Tomin thachankary native place is kalayanthani in thodupuzha taluk at Idukki district. He is the 4'th son of excise inspector Joseph Thomas and Thankamma (retd.hm).Born in 29th July 1963. Completed his college education in changanassery. Then focused to musical instruments and music troop. After he going to civil service. [2]
Career[edit]
After passed civil service exam. Taking IPS his choice. Enrolled as 1987 batch ips officer. Firstly Worked as asst. superintendent of police at Idukki and Alappuzha district's in 1991-1992. Then he served as district police chief in Calicut, Ernakulam, Palakkad and Kannur. Promoted to DIG in 2005. IG in 2009. ADGP in 2015. He is reaching the top of Kerala Police.

Promoted to DGP in September 2020. Also completed 33 years in his service career. He is the 4rth grade officer in kerala police seniority list.
