"Too Far Gone?" is a song by American metal band Metallica. It was released as the tenth track of the album, 72 Seasons. It was written by singer-songwriter James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, whom both produced the song with Greg Fidelman.
Although "Too Far Gone?" was not initially released as a single from 72 Seasons, it was later issued in September 15, 2023 as a digital single featuring a live performance recorded at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on August 6, 2023, during Metallica’s M72 World Tour. However, it could count as a fifth single to 72 Seasons.[tone]
Prior to the live single's release, "Too Far Gone?" peaked at No. 10 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, No. 38 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, and debuted at No. 29 on the Mainstream Rock chart.[2] Eventually, in November 4, 2023, it peaked at No. 1 on the latter chart.[3]
Music video
The first music video of "Too Far Gone?" premiered on April 17, 2023 on YouTube, but was criticized for its poor quality.[citation needed]
