Half Mystic

Half Mystic is "an independent publishing house & literary journal dedicated to the celebration of music in all its forms".[17] Founded by Winters in July 2015, the books and semiannual journal issues are produced under her direction by a team of ten press editors, journal editors, blog correspondents, interview correspondents, designers, and social media managers.[18] Writers, artists, and musicians published in the journal include Alexandra Eldridge, Linden Eller, Alice Kristiansen, Mree, F. Daniel Rzicznek, Scherezade Siohban, Dalton Day, Kevin Rabas, Mountains of the Moon[disambiguation needed], Emily Blue, and Anouk Vercouter.[19]

Half Mystic also hosts "gatherings" of its readers, editors, and contributors in bookstores around the world, celebrating the launch of its books and journal issues.[20] Previous gatherings have featured writers and musicians such as Cyril Wong, Joshua Ip, Jonathan Meur, Daphne Tan, Natalie Wee, and Melissa Atkinson Mercer, and been hosted at Barnes & Noble, BooksActually, and other bookstores.[21]

Half Mystic's staff, readers, contributors, and authors have been published and profiled in Best of the Net, Best American Poetry, Best New Poets, The Paris Review, Rolling Stone, NPR, The Huffington Post, The Chicago Tribune, and The New York Times, and are Pushcart Prize, MTV Video Music Awards, and Grammy nominees.[22]

Column

Winters' column "Silver-Tipped Swallow" is published semiannually in Half Mystic Journal and on the Half Mystic blog. It chronicles "the ways in which music intertwines with our experiences in loving, losing, & lingering on what remains".[23] Previous editions of the column have covered subjects of fury in love, heartbreak through the lens of musical instruments, the toxic cycle of mental illness, and meeting a long-distance lover for the first time.
