Toppr is an Indian educational technology and online learning firm[1][2], founded in 2013.[3] It is headquartered in Mumbai, India. It provides its services to the students from Class 5th to 12th. It offers exam preparation courses and online doubt-solving services for engineering, medical and commerce entrance exams.[4] As of 2021, it has over 16 million students on the platform.[5]
It was listed among Global50 Education Companies 2018 by Tyton Global Growth50.[6] CB Insights listed the company among the 'World's Hottest Ed Tech Startups' in 2015.[7] Toppr was acquired by BYJU'S in 2021.[8]

Toppr was founded in 2013 by Zishaan Hayath and Hemanth Goteti, an alumnus of IIT Bombay. Before starting Toppr, Zishaan Hayath co-founded Chaupaati Bazaar, a phone-commerce startup in 2008. In 2010, it was acquired by Future Group, after which he worked at Future Group till 2013 as Vice President of Products.[9][10]
Funding[edit]
In May 2015, the company raised $10 million funding in the second round from SAIF Partners, Fidelity Ventures and Helion Venture Partners.[11] In December 2018, it received $35 Million Series C funding from Kaizen Private Equity.[5] In July 2020, Toppr secured $46 million in Series D round funding led by investment firm Foundation Holdings.[12]
Acquisition[edit]
In April 2015, Toppr acquired EasyPrep, an online education platform[13] followed by the acquisition of edu-tech startup Manch in February 2016.[14]
