Toro Energy
Toro Energy is an ASX-listed exploration and mining company based in Perth, Western Australia. Its flagship project is Wiluna in Western Australia, where a series of open pit mines and a future processing plant are approved for development. In 2013, Wiluna became the first uranium project to receive approval since a state-based ban on uranium mining was lifted in 2008. Toro's other major project is Yandal Gold. Additional resources identified at Toro Energy project sites include nickel and vanadium.[1]
Founding director
In 2006, Greg Hall became the founding director of prospective uranium mining company Toro Energy.[2] He is a long-term advocate for the expansion of uranium production in Australia.[3][4] In 2012, and under Hall's directorship, Toro Energy's Wiluna project became the first uranium project to receive approval in the state of Western Australia.[5][6] Hall's former positions include mining managerial roles at Australia's two largest Australian uranium mines: Ranger and Olympic Dam.[7] He first worked on the Roxby Downs Project (later renamed Olympic Dam) in 1981.[8] He has held operational, marketing and managerial positions with three major mining companies: Rio Tinto, North Limited and Western Mining Corporation.[9] As of 2020, Greg Hall is president of the South Australian Chamber of Mines & Energy (SACOME) and director of ASX-listed companies Rex Minerals[10] and Alligator Energy.[11]
