Andrey Leonidovich Smelyansky (Russian: Андрей Леонидович Смелянский; born 21 March 2004), known professionally as Toxi$ (often stylized as TOXI$), is a Russian rapper, singer, and songwriter. He gained popularity through video recordings of his dances, which he posted on his Telegram channel. He is noted for his distinctive high-pitched voice, a result of eosinophilic granuloma.

Early life

Andrey Smelyansky was born on 21 March 2004 in Moscow, but moved with his family to Saint Petersburg as a child. He studied piano in his youth. At age 15, he was diagnosed with eosinophilic granuloma, a rare condition that permanently raised the pitch of his voice. He was inspired to start rapping after listening to American artists Lil Pump and Trippie Redd.

2019–2023: Early career and breakthrough

Smelyansky released his debut English-language album Greener Days in 2019 while still in school. The album was noticed by rapper Big Baby Tape, who encouraged him to start recording in Russian. Later that year, he released his first Russian-language track, "Taga".

In 2023, he began gaining significant popularity by posting short dance videos on his Telegram channel. During this time, he was studying to become a foreign language teacher at a college affiliated with the Dostoevsky Humanitarian Academy and worked as a teacher for elementary school children, graduating in 2024. Later that year, he released his album Hotshot. His EP Jazz Do It was ranked 8th on The Flow's list of the 50 best albums of 2023.

2024–present: Mainstream recognition

In 2024, he won the Forbes Russia "30 Under 30" award in the "New Media" category. The same year, he released the EPs Unique and Inside.

In April 2025, he won the "Voice: Main Faces" award from The Voice magazine in the "Rap" category. In November 2025, he released a collaborative album titled Slaang with producer Aarne.

At the end of February 2026, the song "Nobody", recorded with Big Baby Tape and Aarne, went viral on the internet. A clip from one of his livestreams where he performs the song without autotune became the subject of numerous memes.

Musical style

Toxi$ is considered a pioneer of nu jazz in Russia, a genre characterized by robotic vocals processed with Auto-Tune, often combined with glitch effects. He is also able to alter his voice by tensing his vocal cords to lower its pitch, a technique he frequently uses in his work.

Personal life

From July 2023 to December 2024, Smelyansky was in a relationship with Twitch streamer Gensukha. From August to December 2025, he was in a relationship with Twitch streamer Rochersha.
