TraceX Guard is a mobile security application developed by TraceX Labs for the Android operating system.[1][2] It is distributed as freemium proprietary software and provides protection against Mobile malware including viruses, spyware, worms and malicious scripts.

The application also includes SMS and call blocking, a software and process manager, data and application backup, and a data traffic monitor.[3] An integrated anti-theft feature allows users to locate, lock or recover lost or stolen devices.[4]

TraceX Guard requires Android 2.2 and up.[5]

    Purpose and Development

In India, the rise of mobile-targeted cybercrime and the circulation of malicious APK files on platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram led TraceX Labs to create TraceX Guard.[6][7][8] Many of these fake applications mimicked government or utility services, including counterfeit versions of mParivahan, e-Challan and RTO apps, as well as wedding-invitation APKs, and adult-themed apps like “Bhabhi Calling” and “Video Call".[9][10][7][11] These scams frequently targeted retired military personnel, bankers, police officials, young users and the general public.[12][13]

It is developed under the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, protects users from mobile malware and security threats.[14][2]

    Insurance Coverage

TraceX Labs offers an insurance coverage for users who incur financial losses due to Androd malware while using TraceX Guard, in accordance with the company's terms and conditions.[15] Claims resulting from user negligence or human error are excluded.
