Transworld Group is a global shipping & logistics company with activities in the (a) Ocean: Coastal, Bulk, Ship Owning, Ship Management & Feeders, (b) Logistics: Cold Chain, Agency, Transportation, Freight Forwarding, 3PL, Warehousing, Liner and Projects.[3][4][5] The company is headquartered in United Arab Emirates and has offices in United States, Oman, Qatar, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuwait, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and on 28 cities of India.[1][2][6][7][8]

In 1977, Transworld Group of Companies was founded by Mr. R. Sivaswamy, in Mumbai.[2][9] It evolved as the forefront of Shipping, Marine and Logistics field in the Subcontinent and Gulf Region under the Chairman Mr. Ramesh Ramakrishnan.[10][11]

Business transformation[edit]

Transworld Group has rebranded Shreyas Relay Systems Ltd and Balaji Shipping Line FZCO, into Avana Logistek Ltd. which takes care of the logistics and supply chain activities of the group.[12] With this, the coastal division, Shreyas Relay Systems Ltd was converted to Avana Coastal and NVOCC division, Balaji Shipping Line FZCO was transformed to Avana Global.[13][14]

In association with KPIT and Oracle India in year 2018, on the 40th anniversary of the company, Transworld had announced a digital transformation project in the name of Innovation in Motion.[15][16][17]

Avana Logistek have received markets regulator Sebi's go ahead to float initial share sale offers.[18][19]

OEL Shravan.

The company bought the vessel 1,608 TEU Mekur Tide and renamed it as OEL Sharvan.[20]

Transworld Group acquired MV Suffolk Trader - since renamed MV SSL KRISHNA on 19 June 2018, at 2030hrs. Singapore Local Time (1230hrs. GMT). MV SSL KRISHNA is the 24th addition to the fleet of the Group.[21][22]

Awards[edit]

In June 2018, Shreyas Shipping and Logistics Ltd has won the “Coastal Service Operator of The Year,” and Avana Logistek and Avana Global FZCO won the “NVOCC of The Year” in Coastal Cargo and General Product category.[9]

In May 2018, Transworld Shipping Agencies was awarded with managing the highest number of container vessels in Cochin.[23][24]

In 22 September 2017, Transworld Group Company Shreyas Shipping & Logistics Ltd. was awarded the winner for Coastal Container Vessel Operator - Pan India.[25][26]

In 2014, Balaji Shipping Line being recognised as the NVOCC of the Year and Shreyas Shipping and Logistics won ‘Shipping Line of the Year - Coastal Operator’.[27]

Transworld Group companies won ‘Container Operator of the Year’ for 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, Gujarat Star Award ‘Best End to End Complete Logistics Solution Provider of the Year’ in Fiscals 2013, 2014 and 2015.[28]

The management team includes the following members –Ramesh S Ramakrishnan who is the Chairman, followed by Captain Leslie Reis –Executive Director and Group CEO, Mr. Ritesh S Ramakrishnan - Joint Managing Director, Mrs. Geeta Ramakrishnan - Director Admin & HR and L. B Culas - Group Advisor.[28][29][30][13]
