Christopher Mitchell III (born August 13, 2000), known professionally as Tre$o, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and owner of Record Label, Grime Records. As early as 2016, Mitchell began uploading tracks on the audio distribution platform Tre$o on SoundCloud where he began his journey on becoming an independent artist.
Early life[edit]
Mitchell was born on August 13, 2000 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. [1] He and his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia when he was 14 years old. When asked about his life, Mitchell discribed himself as a laid back kid who always had a thing for music. Mitchell started poetry as early as age 9, then joined his school's jazz band as a drumset player, which overtime eventually blended in to his love for rap music. Originally, Mitchell wanted to become an Olympic hurdler but his athletic career came to an end with an ACL tear after his senior season in High school. It was at this time when he dedicated the time he would put into training, into his music. His musical influences range from Joey Badass, Lil Wayne, Trippie Redd, Tyler, the Creator, Chief Keef, and Young Thug.[2]
Career[edit]
2016-Present[edit]
Mitchell uploaded his first song in May of 2016 under the moniker "Tre Swank". Overtime he developed the name Tre$o when he started taking it more seriously further down. Mitchell has uploaded a display of tracks on Tre$o on SoundCloud from 2018-2019 including I Met Heaven in Hell ft Bray Costello which gained hundreds of thousands of plays. The track is a soft-toned, heartbreak story remixed from Elijah Who's "i'm tired of feeling this way", about a fictional-or-nonfictional character Mitchell describes as "Heaven". He also has two mixtapes, 555 (2019) and Say It Ain't So (2020).
Debut Studio Album[edit]
On August 14th, 2020, Mitchell released his first independent studio albumLeo[3] via Grime Records. The album includes many trap-heavy/ melodic songs with collaborations from various talented underground producers and also 1x Gold and 7x Platinum producer, Tevin Revell (Drumdummie). [4] Stats for this projects are TBD
