Tresean Gore (born June 21, 1994) is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the Middleweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He was the runner-up on the Ultimate Fighter Season 29.

Background[edit]

Born and raised in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Gore had a rough upbringing; his father was incarcerated and his mother became a drug addict when Gore was only ten years old.[1] Gore attended North Myrtle Beach High School, and began training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu when he was 17.[2]

Mixed martial arts career[edit]

Early career[edit]

Gore compiled an amateur record of 3-1 from 2014 until 2016. He later made his professional debut in 2018, winning his first three fights before being invited to compete on The Ultimate Fighter 29 as middleweight.[3]

The Ultimate Fighter[edit]

In the quarterfinals, Gore faced Ryder Newman, winning the bout via unanimous decision.[4]In the semifinals Gore faced Gilbert Urbina, he won the bout via KO in round 2.[5]

Gore was scheduled to face Bryan Battle in finals but Gore was pulled out of bout due to injury and was replaced by Gilbert Urbina.[6]

Ultimate Fighting Championship[edit]

Gore made his UFC debut against Bryan Battle at UFC Fight Night: Hermansson vs. Strickland on February 5, 2022. He lost the fight via unanimous decision.[7]

Gore faced Cody Brundage at UFC on ESPN: dos Anjos vs. Fiziev on July 9, 2022.[8] He lost the bout via first-round knockout.[9]

Gore faced Josh Fremd at UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs. Allen on October 29, 2023 against Josh Fremd. He won the fight via guillotine choke in the second round.[10] This win earned him the Performance of the Night award. [11]

Gore is scheduled to face Bo Nickal at UFC 290 on July 8, 2023.[12]
