Ashby shares project updates on social media and ends the project with a music video to showcase the finished stadium.[3] Ashby also posts time-lapse videos of his projects on his YouTube channel.[4] Ashby’s work has been featured in several news articles and TV interviews, and has been on the cover of the Lincoln Journal Star twice.[3] [5]
Career
Ashby started making stadiums as a hobby. First by making random stadiums, and then modeling his projects after actual stadiums. His first model was of Rosenblatt Stadium. His first model to gain media attention was of Memorial Stadium. After a video went viral, Ashby was featured on the cover of the Lincoln Journal Star, as well as articles in the Omaha World Herald[6] and the Daily Nebraskan[7]. Since then, Ashby has continued making stadiums with increasing popularity. After selling a few stadiums at auction, Ashby now works exclusively on stadiums that clients order by messaging him on social media. Ashby has described it as, “A lucrative part-time job.” [5]
Personal life
Ashby is married with two kids. He works full-time as a Physical Education teacher in Omaha. He is a graduate of University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Master’s Degree from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is an avid supporter of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Kansas City Royals. When not working on his projects, he enjoys Weight Training in his home gym. He currently resides in Papillion, NE with his family.
