Cover of Trigger Fingers: Personal Branding Through Storytelling

Trigger Fingers: Personal Branding Through Storytelling is the best-selling debut book from author Adam Rodricks.

It features an alternative format of learning used in the classroom at George Brown College[1], York University and University of Toronto campuses by the author. In Trigger Fingers, the foundations of personal brand marketing are positioned through anecdotes only. The chapters resemble a textbook solely in the closing sections that feature actionable takeaways and hands-on assignments. It is based on the theory that learning retention can be most valuable when attached to storytelling.

The premise of the book flips the conventional perception of Digital Marketing foundations on its head: according to Rodricks' methodology, there is too large of a fixation within Digital on future-proofing, forecasting and iterating for further success. In fact, the contrary is true of the most effective marketers in the 2020s: what has made them effective marketers is entrenched in their past and honed through the practice of purposeful storytelling.
