Trishna The Band is an Indie Rock Band from Lucknow, India. They got fame from the popular reality shows Idea Rocks India and India's Got Talent. The band was originally formed in 2009 by two brothers, Monty Massey and Max Massey. The word ‘Trishna’ means ‘thirst’. Since 2009 the band has done more than 500 shows in India and abroad.

History

Trishna The Band started its journey in May 2009 with a local show at Lucknow where Monty was the lead singer-bassist and Max was on lead guitar. Initially the name was ‘Tashna’ which also means thirst in Arabic. After 4-5 local shows, they got a chance to perform with the widely-known singer Kailash Kher where he suggested changing the name from ‘Tashna’ to ‘Trishna’ after performing his popular number ‘Teri Deewani’ with them. After this show Mr. Kher led them to the TV reality show on Colors TV ‘Idea Rocks India’. Soon after, the Band played with many popular artists of Bollywood. The journey took off and the band has done almost 530 gigs in India and abroad.

Their First music video ‘Kudi Patole Vergai’ for MTV Indies, was launched on September 2nd, 2014. The Band then went on to compose their Second Song for MTV Indies which was a blend of love Ballad lyrics with Rock Music— named ‘Bhavra’. This music video was launched on 1st of July 2015. Along with this, Trishna The Band shot their two episodes with one of the most prominent bands of India, Indian Ocean back in July 2015 for the Fox Life channel. In 2017, Trishna got associated with Zee Music and they have released four music videos and got millions of views on YouTube.

Reality Shows

Idea Rocks India, Colors TV: Trishna The Band marked their first footstep in Indian music industry through the band reality show 'Idea Rocks India' in 2009. They were the only band who represented Lucknow. The band reached the finale and was nominated the Best Rock Band.

India's Got Talent Season 7, Colors TV: The Band rocked back Colors TV for the biggest reality show 'India'S Got Talent'. They have been the finalist of the season 7.

Major concerts

• Lucknow Mahotsav, 28 January 2018: Trishna The Band performed at the prestigious stage of Lucknow Mahotsav.

• India Color Fest, 2017: Trishna The Band performed in India Color Fest, the brilliant initiative to celebrate the togetherness of all Sections of people in without distinction, exclusion, or preference based on Nationality, Religion, Cast, Creed, Race, Colour, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Civil Status or Cultural variations.

• Lamhe 2015, 9 February 2015: Trishna The Band rocked the annual cultural fest of IMS Unison University, Dehradun— Lamhe 2015

• Awadh Polo Tournament, 16 December 2014, Trishna The Band performed at Awadh Polo Tournament at Lucknow.
