Troubled Paradise is the upcoming debut studio album by American singer Slayyyter, set to be released on June 11, 2021 though Fader.[2] The album follows her 2019 self-titled mixtape, as well as a collaboration with Charli XCX and Kim Petras on the remix of "Click", titled "Click (No Boys Remix)".

Background[edit]

Production on the album began during The Mini Tour in 2019, and carried on into 2020 with the release being planned around the same time period, before being eventually pushed back into 2021. On March 26, 2020, she revealed that she was working on her debut album. In April of 2020, Slayyyter played the track "Heaven" on her livestream, and went on to tease the tracks "Dangerous" and "Villain" in May of the same year. She later played "Heaven" in full on July 25, 2020 during the Heav3n Virtual Party on Twitch.[3] In October 2020, she teased her fans with a series of tweets, telling them to turn on their notifications, which lead to the eventual release of "Self Destruct".[4]T he second single, "Throatzillaaa", was released on November 13, 2020.[5] A lyric video was teased on November 9, before its official announcement on November 11,[6] and its eventual release on November 13. In December, the title track, "Troubled Paradise" was registered on to Slayyyter's ASCAP page. The single was announced for release on January 19, 2021.[7] The release date and cover artwork were then announced by Slayyyter on January 21, 2021, a day earlier than planned.[8]
