TrueConf is a Russian company that produces software-based video conferencing and unified communications products. The company's applications are designed for usage in conference or meeting rooms, at workplaces, and on mobile devices. TrueConf is headquartered in Moscow, Russia.
SVC-based architecture[edit]
TrueConf's software architecture is based on Scalable Video Coding (SVC). During a multipoint video conference each conference participant receives an individual set of video streams adjusted in accordance with bandwidth, network connection, and endpoint's capabilities. As opposed to SVC technology, traditional video conferencing based on multipoint control units (MCUs) performs transcoding server-side, which is not scalable thus unsuitable for large deployments. SVC-based architecture is considered to have a competitive advantage as it significantly lowers infrastructure costs and easily adapts to any necessary device.[1]

- TrueConf for Windows, Android, iOS[6] and Mac OS X[7] are the free applications and most of the features are free too. Upgrade to a pro account allows for up to 120 participants in a single video conference.
- TrueConf for Linux[8] is an application available for all popular Linux distributions, such as Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, openSUSE, Fedora, and ALT Linux.
- TrueConf WebRTC[9] is an application designed for the browsers supporting WebRTC standard.
