TrueLayer is a London-based technology company[1], founded[2] in 2016 by founder and CEO Francesco Simoneschi, and co-founder and CTO Luca Martinetti. The company is focused in developing Open Banking APIs (B2B2C) that startups and large companies partner with to operate within the Open Banking regulation. TrueLayer is headquartered in London, with operations in England, Ireland, Scotland, across Europe[3] and Australia[4][5]. The company is lead by Francesco, Luca and the COO and CCO Shefali Roy, and it is currently sized between 70-150 employees. In 2017 TrueLayer[13] became one of the first UK companies to be authorised and registered[14] as a payment institution by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to provide account information (AIS) and payment initiation services (PIS) under Open Banking and PSD2 directory.[15]
