TURBOARD was founded in 2004 by two Turkish computer engineers who had newly graduated from METU at the time. Ilter Tolga Dogan[2] and Yasemin Sahin Dogan started their first project as a data needs digitization platform for drug discovery processes.[1][3] The software was first presented in partnership with PharmaCircle, an American company that provides integrated data, analysis tools and industry knowledge for pharmaceutical and life sciences companies in the USA and Europe.[4] By 2022, most of the top 50 pharmaceutical and Biologics companies in the world became users of TURBOARD software.[5]
In 2010, the company moved to METU Technopolis in the Turkish capital, Ankara.[1] Within the next few years, the business intelligence platform developed and expanded to serve various markets and business sectors, such as healthcare[6][7] and hospitals,[8] sales, retail,[3] banking,[1] and logistics.[9]
By 2021, the platform became the selected business intelligence and data analytics solution for several Turkish government and national entities including the Ministry of Health,[6][10] Presidency of Strategy and Budget, Turkish Statistical Institute, Turkish Exporters Assembly, and several municipalities.[1][3]

The company’s business intelligence and data analytics platform is under the same name TURBOARD, a web-based platform designed to allow decision makers to understand real-time data via user-friendly, dynamic, flexible and interactive interfaces at speed and without having technical knowledge in order to make data-driven decisions.[1] The platform connects to several data sources and integrates with various systems with minimal effort.[3] The business intelligence capabilities of the platform include multi-dimensional analysis, dashboarding, reporting, embedding capabilities, white-labeling services and big data integration.[1][3][5][8][9]
Patent[edit]
In 2016, the founders of TURBOARD applied for a patent application to the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the patent was granted in January 2020. Their invention is for Clone feature to compare data visualization for software, ICT and Business Intelligence. The feature simply clones a dashboard with a click of a button and places both, side by side, on the same screen for comparing in different parameters.
The idea to develop this feature in TURBOARD emerged from the fact that for dashboard users, there is always a need to compare different parameters on the same dashboard. But as there is no option or just a hard way to do it in existing BI platforms, most dashboard users aren't even aware of the possibility of comparing different parameters side by side.[11]
