Turkish Technology Team (T3) is a foundation that aims to ensure that individuals in Turkey participate in the development of technology products and support research and development and initiative activities within the country. The main working area of the T3 Foundation is to support the production of national original systems and components that will have strategic importance and their own identity in global competition. To improve our country, technology-wise, T3 Foundation has produced maker labs, training workshops in 81 provinces in Turkey while establishing competency to educate young minds. It was established in 2016 by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Selçuk Bayraktar, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Haluk Bayraktar. T3 Foundation also aims to support 1001 Technology Teams by 2023.[1]

Activities Of The Turkish Technology Team

Entrepreneur training program

The Turkish Technology Team Foundation conducts a 10-month entrepreneur training program for young people interested in entrepreneurship. Students selected for the program are expected to participate in training and activities organized during the program period.

Deneyap Technology Workshops

Deneyap Technology Workshops is a program which aims to nurture in students a passion to explore and help Turkey become independent in science and technology. The project is held in 30 provinces. Students who are eligible for the program apply. They take two-stage exams on theory and practice. After the exams, admitted students receive three years of education for free.

The workshops offer a variety of classes including coding, robotics design and production, cyber technologies and artificial intelligence for middle and high school students

The Technology Team of Turkey has established Deneyap Technology Workshops in different provinces of Turkey. In these workshops, primary, secondary, and high school students receive training in different technology fields:

Teknofest

Teknofest is an aviation, space, and technology festival. Every year, thousands of primary, secondary, high school, and university students participate in this festival. Teknofest, which supports the Ministry of Industry and Technology of Turkey, conducts a technology competition in which students from different countries participate.

According to the statement made by the event organizers, Teknofest broke a record by attracting more than 1.7 million visitors in its second year.

In 2019, 1.72 million visitors from both Turkey and all around the world attended Teknofest, a six-day technology and aviation fair to see technological developments. During the competitions, approximately 4 million Turkish Liras (697,000 US Dollars) were provided to the teams and 3 million Turkish liras (522,445 US Dollars) were given to the winners.[2]

The Minister of Technology of Turkey stated that even though it was COVID-19, in 2020, Teknofest received 100,000 applications from 84 different countries. Individuals other than the competitors were not included in the event held in Gaziantep in 2020.[3]

Training entrepreneurs

T3 Foundation provides basic entrepreneurship training in training centers it has opened in various regions of the country. During the training, meetings are held on book reviews, case analysis methods and entrepreneurship.
