Two Shires Ambulance Service (Two Shires Ambulance NHS Trust) was the ambulance service for the two Counties of Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire in England. It was formed from the amalgamation of the Buckinghamshire Ambulance Service and the Northamptonshire Ambulance Service on 1 April 1993. [1] The Buckinghamshire half was succeeded as part of the creation of the South Central Ambulance Service [2] and the Northamptonshire half was succeeded as part of the creation of the East Midlands Ambulance Service on 1 July 2006.[3]

It was headquartered at Deanshanger in Northamptonshire.

Controversy[edit]

Robert King, who applied as a trainee at Two Shires Ambulance Service in 1994, then "rising through the ranks to operation manager" before he resigned in 2011[4] was revealed to be dishonest by failing to admit to a conviction.[5] It was discovered, that he had been found guilty in 1981 for murdering a gay photographer while he was a teen. King joined Two Shires Ambulance Service and had 'failed to declare his conviction when applying for a job with the Trust."
