Uganda has been governed by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) since 1986, when Yoweri Museveni assumed the presidency following a guerrilla war in Luwero.[4][5]
History

The organisation has stated plans to establish regional coordination structures and to collaborate with civil-society groups, community leaders, and youth networks.[6]
