Ugliest Language in India Controversy

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Ugliest Language in India Controversy is an Internet controversy buzzed on June 3, 2021 when if you type on Google search engine the ugliest language in India, the search result displays Kannada.[1] Following this, there was an outrage on social media and people are demanding that Google must apologize and take strict action against it.

Kannada Language

Kannada (/ˈkɑːnədə, ˈkæn-/;[2][3] ಕನ್ನಡ, [ˈkɐnːɐɖa]; less commonly known as Kanarese)[4][5] is a Dravidian language spoken predominantly by the people of Karnataka in the southwestern region of India. The language is also spoken by linguistic minorities in the states of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala and Goa; and also by Kannadigas abroad. The language had roughly 43 million native speakers by 2011.[6] Kannada is also spoken as a second and third language by over 12.9 million non-native speakers in Karnataka, which adds up to 56.9 million speakers.

Kannada Development Authority

President of Kannada Development Authority, TS Nagabharana was quoted by TV9 Kannada as saying, "We have got into a legal battle over this issue. Legal notice sent to Google condemning Kannada. The humiliation of one another in terms of land, water, language and culture cannot be tolerated. Clearly, this is some kind of systematic conspiracy. Kannadigas, the moods of the Kannada language, are ambushed to create such an opportunity. It is not our job to resist. Instead, these types of events must be kept in check."

It is said that there is no ugliest language in India or in other countries.
