The Ultimate Kricket Challenge (UKC) was an indoor single wicket cricket tournament held in the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.[1][2] The event was streamed on Disney+ Hotstar and Star Sports 1 in India, and on BT Sport 2 in the United Kingdom, between 24 December 2020 and January 1 2021.[3][not in citation given]

The tournament was won by Rashid Khan, who defeated Andre Russell in the final.[4] During the tournament, plans were announced for a second event with a US$1 million prize.[5]

Rules and format[edit]

The format of the tournament was a round-robin tournament, with the top four contenders progressing to the semi-finals. Two league points were awarded to a contender for winning a match, with the player who scored the most runs winning each match.

Each match was made up of four innings, two with each player batting. Each innings was consisted of 15 balls being bowled to the batter. Each player was required to bowl a minimum of eight balls per innings, while the other seven balls would be bowled by a substitute "Ace" player. In each innings one fielder and one wicket-keeper, as well as the bowler, were allowed to assist the bowling player. As well as completing runs by running between the wickets, players could also score runs by hitting the ball into specific areas of the playing area.[6]
