Umm Al Quwain FTZ is a free economic zone located in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain, United Arab Emirates. Umm Al Quwain, the UAQ Free Trade Zone is a UAE government organization directly administered by Umm Al Quwain, an emirate in UAE. Created under a Ruler's Decree, Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone commenced operations in 1987.[1] It functions under the administration of Sheikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla.[2][3][1]

It is the first and arguably the biggest free trade zone in UAE located on 23,000 hectares area it has a total of 208 registered companies with 60% Emirati capital. It is a developed Free Zone in UAE as it establishes a unique linkage between trade and agriculture and resorts. Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone is a member of Dubai World free zones, an association of trading partners in UAE.[4][5][6]
The UAQ Free Trade Zone (FTZ) is a licensed free zone operating under Act No. 6 of 2008, issued by the Federal authority in July 2008. UAQ FTZ is situated close to the UAE’s primary sea ports and within close proximity to Dubai International Airport and Sharjah International Airport. The Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone is strategically situated at the crossroads of international trade routes. It has direct access to Jebel Ali.[7][8][1][9]
