The Universal Insurance Company Limited is a part of Bibojee Group of Companies which was established by the late Habibullah Khan Khattak. The company was incorporated in 1960 and has established its franchise in the general insurance market.
In 1971, the Company lost many of its assets and network due to separation of the then East Pakistan. The Company rebuilt its business in the remaining part of Pakistan.
Universal Insurance Company was nationalized in 1972 by the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto government and the company remained in the Public Sector for many years.
