Untitled Death Note sequel (or Death Note 2) is an upcoming American neo-noir supernatural thriller film. The film will serve as the sequel to 2017’s Death Note. The film is written by Greg Russo and is produced by Dan Lin and Roy Lee

Prior to the release of Death Note, director Adam Wingard stated that Netflix had wanted to make at least two films, if enough people watch the first one. He said: "There are definitely lots of places to go, and we know generally where we would take it. Hopefully people will watch it and Netflix will order a sequel. They definitely are ready to. They just need people to watch it."[1]
On August 22, 2018, it was announced through a THR report that a sequel was in the works, with Greg Russo reportedly writing the script, after producer Ted Sarandos called the film a "sizable" success.[2]
