Noah Baumbach has written and directed an upcoming comedy film starring Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson as a couple who are getting divorced, with a supporting cast of Laura Dern, Merritt Wever, Ray Liotta and Azhy Robertson.

Cast[edit]

Production[edit]

In November 2017, it was announced Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson, Laura Dern, Merritt Wever and Azhy Robertson had joined the cast of the film, with Noah Baumbach directing from a screenplay he wrote. David Heyman will produce the film under his Heyday Films banner, and Netflix will produce and distribute the film.[2][3][4] In March 2018, Kyle Bornheimer joined the cast of the film.[5]

In June 2018, it was announced Ray Liotta had been cast in the film.[6] Speaking of his involvement with the project, Liotta shed details on the film's plot stating:

I'm a lawyer in it. Adam's [Driver] and Scarlett's [Johansson] characters are going through a divorce, he comes to me, and I'm a lawyer who explains all these ways we can get stuff out of her in the divorce, and he's, like "No, that's too aggressive." So he ends up going to court, and there he realizes that Scarlett has a lawyer who's really aggressive. So then he's, like, "Oh, s--t," and he comes back to me to represent him.[6]

In November 2018, Julie Hagerty announced she had been cast in the film.[7]

Filming[edit]

Production began on January 15, 2018 and continued until April 2018 in New York and Los Angeles.[8] It is expected to be released in late 2019.
