Up-wing politics

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Up-wing politics refers to a political schema proposed by Fereidoun M. Esfandiary in his book "UpWingers: A Futurist Manifesto" and in the essay "Upwing Priorities" (in the now-defunct Future Life magazine). Up-wing politics looks to the sky, into the future and endorses universal progress. It sees a future for humanity beyond this planet. Up‑wingers, have begun to be colour-coded as "Blacks".[1][2][3][4] They include such people as technocrats and libertarians.[2]

Up-wing politics opposes down-wing politics which looks instead down into the earth, and into the past. Down-wing politics seeks to preserve the planet and proudly self-identify themselves as "Greens".[5][6] Down-wing politics is hence conservative while up-wing politics is progressive. The greens want to curb the human aspirations to make them fit within what nature, in its Earthbound form, can reasonably be expected to sustain.

Universal progress[edit]

Up-wing politics endorses such science and technology as genetics and bio-engineering and space exploration[7].
