Usama Javaid Haider is a Pakistani Actor and Filmmaker.
Personal Life
Usama was born in Lahore on the 20th of April 2001. His father is a lawyer. Usama’s family didn't want him to be an actor, so he started struggling without their knowledge for the first two years. He is not strong in education, so he has not graduated yet. He did a short course in 2014 from the National College of Arts. He enrolled in BA (Hons) with History in Government College University, Lahore and then in Fine Arts at College of Arts and Design but did not graduate from either. People who know him well say that he gets bored very quickly. He is always looking for individuality and comfort. He was diagnosed with Laryngeal cancer in 2015, but he is still surviving and struggling with it.
Career
Theatre
Usama had started acting in 2010, since he was 9 years old. He got his first acting workshop from Naqsh Arts Complex. In 2011, he joined Ajoka Theatre Pakistan. In 2013, he gained experience in theatre with Azad Theatre as well, and in 2014 he also had a theatre experience with Tamasha Theatre. (2015 to 2017) Mad Mask Theatre. (2017 to 2020) Makhotay Theatre. He has around 10 years of theatre experience. He also performed theatre internationally. He worked with Sonia Friedman Production, New York and Soho theatre, London.
Filmography
His first short film is Gone directed by Rasheed Azfar Shah, an alumni filmmaker based in GOLDSMITHS, The Screen School London, UK. The film was shortlisted in KIFF international film festival. In 2014, he acted in a short film Clubhouse directed by Fahad Ayaz. In 2016, he played the lead character in No More Love directed by Iqbal Shah and also played Umer Bhai in Gazhanfar Ali short film by Sadam Malik. He played three different characters in Corrupson presented by Heteromatic Production and directed by Sumeer Ghouri. He played the anonymous negative character in Half Anxious directed by himself. He acted in Lota Pota presented by Heteromatic Production directed by Sumeer Ghouri. Usama also played the protagonist in Usman Mukhtar's Gulabo Rani. He can also be seen in the upcoming feature film Chikkar directed by Zaheeruddin Ahmed. He was a founding member of 360 Productions, Heteromatic Production, Red Films and no longer owns 360 Productions and Red Films.
