Used Equipment Guide, Inc. is a privately held company that operates UsedEquipmentGuide.com, the world's largest heavy truck and equipment search engine.[1] The company crawls and indexes over 3 million listings from over 3,5000 websites including on-highway trucks, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, cranes, lift trucks, industrial engines, and power generators.

History[edit]

The company was founded by Jeremy Balog in Asheville, North Carolina in 2015.[2] Used Equipment Guide was incubated as a subsidiary of dieseljobs.com, the largest niche job board for heavy trucks and equipment, which was also founded by Balog. Used Equipment Guide spent 2 years in development before being launched and available to the public in January 2017. In late 2015, Used Equipment Guide was one of 22 semi-finalists for the competitive NC IDEA Fund grant with only a business plan.[3]

In early 2017, the company moved its main office from Asheville, North Carolina to Chattanooga, Tennessee.[4] The company still maintains a satellite office in Asheville. In mid-2017, David Lilly, the cofounder of Autotrader.com joined the company as its Chief Operating Officer. In 2018, the company raised a $3 million seed round led by HOLT Ventures.[5]
