Västerås Film Festival is an international film festival held annually since 2015, in autumn. Västerås Film Festival screens films in different genres from around the world. Det delas också ut priser i olika kategorier på filmgalan. The festival has since 2017 expanded with more activities, such as workshops, lectures, debates, filmcafé and exhibitions.
In 2018, Västerås Film Festival had an exhibition about Ingmar Bergman. The awards ceremony took place at Aros Congress Center in Västerås. There were more workshops and lectures. One new award was introduced; The Audience Award.
The festival has as its mission to strengthen the interest in quality film and production on regional, national and international levels.
Västerås Film Festival was founded in 2015 by Carlos Morén.[1]
