V. H. Lewis

V. H. Lewis (1912–2000) was a minister and general superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene.[1][2] A native of Nebraska, Lewis graduated from Bethany Nazarene College.[3] He began his work in the ministry as an evangelist in 1934, and traveled for 8 years in this field. Another 7 years in the pastorate and 9 years as superintendent of the Houston District, Dr. Lewis was elected the first full-time executive secretary of the Department of Evangelism in 1956.[3][4] He was elected general superintendent at the 1960 General Assembly.

Lewis was also one of the editors of the denominational publican for the Church of the Nazarene, Herald of Holiness.[5] He also wrote books, including The Church Winning Souls.[3]
